2007, the year of the zoo

Being that I am someone who reflects on life quite a bit, probably too much, I don't really have any big revelations or earth shattering decisions to throw into the ring for the new year. I praise God for His incredible faithfulness, and I look forward to fresh starts and new adventures within God's story this year.

I think I'll find some time to go to a really good zoo this year, it's been a while since I've been to a good zoo. About two and a half years ago I went to the Detroit zoo with a handful of middle school students and it was nice. I think the Chicago zoo would be fun, so maybe I'll head there and watch all the crazy animals do their crazy thing. That way I could get some great pizza after a day of animal watching, so Chicago would be nice. I wouldn't mind going to the Cincinnati zoo, that way I could eat at Sonic and stay in a hotel and make it an overnight thing. I played basketball against Cincinnati bible college about ten or eleven years ago and I always wanted more time on those road trips to poke around the city. I heard it's a pretty good city and so maybe a day at the zoo, grab some Sonic, and then kick around the city for a bit. I could probably find Nate a good Bengals hat, he's been looking for one for a while. And I could go around and ask a lot of people their opinions on Pete Rose and see if anyone gets worked up about the topic. Either way, I would enjoy hitting one of those cities and spending some time at the zoo. I suppose the spring would be the best time to go, the weather needs to be warm enough for walking around, and I would want all the animals to be out messing around. So spring it is, I will go to a zoo in the spring and enjoy some good Chicago pizza, or eat at Sonic if the choice is Cincinnati.

Have a great 2007 and make sure you do something that makes you laugh a lot. See a good movie and then talk about how you're now going to look at life differently. Read a good book and tell someone the impact it impressed on you, then watch as they nod their head and mention how they don't have time to read a book. Have a roller skating party, because people don't have roller skating parties much anymore. Go up to a complete stranger and buy them a coffee, then ask them to tell you the craziest story they have ever encountered in their life.

I just now saw a guy walk by me and he still had the size sticker on the back of his pant leg, and he isn't aware of it. So do that this year, walk around with the size sticker still on your pant leg. Try and talk to a Christian about sex. Don't do it in a joking around way, but seriously. I find they either know how to joke around about it or they talk about it like it is a disease. So try and discuss it seriously, it will be really awkward and that needs to take place. Every time you see a penny on the ground, pick it up, and then yell, "I am the Godzilla of loose change baby!"

Lastly, go up to a stranger once a week and ask them what their favorite candybar is, purchase it for them, and then thank them for sharing a piece of who they are with you.

Happy New Year!
Wallace D.

I actually did some updating on the blog, which was long overdue. Sorry the picture is so dang big, but that's the best Ken and I could figure out before getting sick of trying to figure the dumb thing out. Keeping with just candy bars and not candy in general, mine would have to be a split between Payday and Watchamacalit. We're going to start a revolution with candy bars and the zoo this year baby!

Love the new look! I AM supposedly writing a book, but I think YOU might be able to offer my guidance to me. I'm lacking focus at the moment as the original topic has changed...How's your book coming along?

The book is coming along pretty well, I'm a good hundred pages or so into it. My biggest thing recently, is reminding myself that this isn't the only book I'll write, so try not to fit EVERYTHING I am thinking into it. I'm sure editing is going to be a bear, because my grammar is poor at best. It's the new year and I am very dedicated and motivated to write the best book that I can, so giddy up!

I like York Peppermint Patties.

I will talk about sex honestly if you need advise. I know everything. And I am NOT joking or embarassed. So bring your diagrams and I'll help a brother out.

Hey: I helped Dias edit his book. If you would like my help, I am decent with grammar, spelling, etc. I offer up my skills to you. Let me know WDH.
